Blaze My Trail Youth Program
History: The Blaze My Trail program was developed by Ann marie Houghtailing in 2010 and was launched as a one week summer program at the University of San Diego. The business development based program was designed to empower students from middle and high school to take ownership of their future and create their own opportunities. This unique program is founded in business development principals and teaches the life skills critical for personal, academic, and professional lifelong success.
“I developed this program because these skills that are imperative for success are not typically taught in an academic arena, even in graduate school, but there is no reason that we can’t prepare the next generation to take charge of their future. This is important regardless of whether your student wants to be a doctor or dancer.”
Blaze My Own Trail teaches students to create instead of wait and ask instead of wish.
